Former Treasurer Outlines Career Goals

Josh Frydenberg Lands New Job at Goldman Sachs

Former Treasurer Outlines Career Goals

Sydney, July 21, 2022

Former federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg, once considered a potential future prime minister, has secured a new role as a senior adviser at Goldman Sachs.

Frydenberg lost his seat in the recent federal election to teal independent Dr. Monique Ryan. Before losing his seat, Frydenberg served as treasurer and deputy leader of the Liberal Party.

In his new role at Goldman Sachs, Frydenberg will provide strategic advice to clients on a range of issues, including economics, policy, and regulation. He will also work to expand the firm's presence in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

"I am excited to join Goldman Sachs and contribute to the firm's continued growth and success," Frydenberg said in a statement. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to provide our clients with the highest quality advice and service."

Frydenberg's appointment is a significant coup for Goldman Sachs, which has been expanding its presence in Australia in recent years. The firm has hired a number of senior executives from the government and corporate sectors, including former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

Frydenberg's appointment is also likely to fuel speculation about his future political ambitions. He has not ruled out a return to politics, but he has said that he is focused on his new role at Goldman Sachs.
